Tunnel Saz Machine Co. (TSM) has successfully undertaken a vital project in Muscat, addressing the urgent need for modern Water & Water Sewerage infrastructure, with Nama Group (NG) as the client. To tackle the challenging ground conditions, TSM is utilizing the Micro Tunnel Boring Machine (MTBM) method, and employed MTBM 1600 and Upsize 1800, which are highly efficient and precise for complex tunneling projects like this. The MTBM method is often chosen for its ability to create tunnels in urban areas with minimal surface disruption, making it ideal for projects that need to operate beneath existing infrastructure or in densely populated regions. The MTBM's pressurized slurry system ensures tunnel stability by preventing water ingress and material contamination, keeping the tunnel dry and secure, especially in challenging ground conditions with high water risk. The project involves constructing a 1,200-meter pipeline having diameter of 1600 mm and 1800 mm, with TSM overseeing its full execution, including managing difficult ground conditions like rock, sand, boulders, and mixed soils.
